Gunmen Behead 30-Year-Old Man in Plateau State Attack

On the night of April 16, 2026, around 10 PM, gunmen ambushed and beheaded Mr. Elisha Saku, a 30-year-old resident of Riwhi Chwo in Miango District, Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.

The attack caused panic and confusion within the community. A statement issued by the Irigw Youth Movement confirmed the brutal killing and expressed condolences, calling for divine comfort for the deceased's family and the entire Irigw nation.

Joseph Yonkpa, the public secretary of the movement, described the incident as a significant security challenge in the region. The State Police Command's spokesman, Alabo Alfr, was unreachable for comments regarding the incident.

This attack is part of a series of recurring security challenges faced by the Bassa Local Government Area, particularly affecting farming communities.
