Gunmen Abduct 10-Year-Old Boy in Yobe, Demand Ransom

On July 25, at approximately 5:20 pm, four armed men invaded the home of Bukar Umar in Andarashi village, located in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, and abducted his 10-year-old son, Abdullahi Isa. The attackers were reportedly armed with bows and arrows, cutlasses, and sticks.

Following the abduction, the kidnappers contacted the family via telephone to demand ransom for Abdullahi's release. In response to the incident, the Yobe State Police deployed operatives to the area to initiate a rescue operation.

The Officer-in-Charge of the State Investigation Department (SID) was instructed to begin technical tracking of the phone number used by the kidnappers. The police have stated that efforts are ongoing to ensure the safe return of the victim and to apprehend those responsible for the abduction.
