Gunmen Kidnap Two Farmers in Ondo, Demand N100m Ransom

On Monday, two farmers were abducted by gunmen in Parubber community, located in the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State. The victims were taken while they were working on their farms and were forced into a nearby forest by the assailants.

The kidnappers have contacted the families of the victims, demanding a ransom of N100 million for their release. DSP Jimoh Abayomi, the Police Public Relations Officer for Ondo State, confirmed that the police received a report of the abduction at the Oke-Igbo Divisional Headquarters.

In response, a joint security team has been formed, comprising police operatives, the Anti-Kidnapping Squad, Amotekun personnel, local hunters, and vigilantes, to conduct a coordinated search-and-rescue operation. The police have urged community residents to remain calm and provide any credible information that could assist in rescuing the victims and apprehending the kidnappers.
