Gusau's Re-election Crucial for Nigeria's 2030 World Cup Bid

Alhaji Ahm Shuaibu Gara Gombe stated that Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the current president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), should be re-elected to ensure Nigeria's participation in the 2030 World Cup. Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Gara Gombe criticized the frequent changes in football leadership, arguing that they have not resolved the challenges facing Nigerian football.

He noted that Nigeria's failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup was a significant issue, attributing it to the inherited problems from former NFF president Amaju Pinnick. Gara Gombe expressed confidence that Gusau has learned from past failures and will guide the NFF effectively towards the next World Cup.

He acknowledged Gusau's efforts to improve transparency and strengthen football administration, suggesting that replacing him would only restart the rebuilding process. Gara Gombe concluded that the performance of the NFF should be assessed based on achievements rather than sentiment, emphasizing the need for progress in Nigerian football.
