Haemophilia is a rare genetic disorder characterized by a deficiency in clotting factors, specifically clot factor VIII or IX. This results in prolonged bleeding even from minor injuries.

The disorder is classified into two main types, with Type A caused by a lack of clot factor VIII and Type B by a lack of clot factor IX. Haemophilia is usually inherited and more common in males.
