Hanan Buhari Receives Africa’s Peace Icon Award

Hanan Buhari was awarded Africa’s Peace Icon at the 2026 African Leadership Business Summit held in Marrakech, Morocco. The recognition was issued by the Davdan Peace Advocacy Foundation, acknowledging her contributions to humanitarian service and leadership in advancing peace and sustainable development across Africa.

During her acceptance speech, Hanan dedicated the award to her late father, former President Muhammadu Buhari, highlighting the values of discipline and integrity he instilled in her. She expressed gratitude for the support of her husband, Muhammad Turad Sha'aban, co-founder of the Hanan Buhari Foundation, which focuses on improving the lives of vulnerable populations and promoting sustainable development in Nigeria.

Hanan emphasized the importance of genuine leadership and the need to uplift less privileged communities, reinforcing her foundation's commitment to expanding its humanitarian programs and empowering communities.
