Tinubu Accepts APC Nomination for 2027 Presidential Race

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), formally accepted the party's nomination for the 2027 elections during an event in Abuja. He expressed gratitude to party members for the opportunity to seek the nation's highest office, acknowledging the challenges Nigerians face, including economic hardships.

Tinubu stated, "If you lost weight, I’ve lost some too," emphasizing his understanding of the citizens' struggles. He won the APC presidential primary with a total of 10,999,162 votes, defeating his sole challenger, Stanlei Osifo, who received 16,503 votes.

The primary was conducted across Nigeria's 774 local government areas and 8,809 wards, with a significant turnout reflecting the party's support. Tinubu's acceptance speech highlighted the peaceful conduct of the primary and the importance of unity in Nigeria's democracy.
