Harlem Globetrotters Host Educational Basketball Event in Lagos

The Harlem Globetrotters are set to participate in an educational basketball event in Lagos, scheduled for April 3-4, 2026, at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island. This two-day event will be filmed for Amazon Prime Video and aims to highlight emerging basketball talent on a global stage.

It will feature a Harlem Globetrotters kids' camp alongside a basketball robotics clinic hosted by Lab Zero from Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, providing students with insights into how AI can enhance sports performance. The event will commence at 12 noon each day, including multiple showcase games, with a highlight match between Nigeria and Ghana at 7 PM, followed by a performance by the Harlem Globetrotters at 8 PM.

The event is supported by Nike, and attendance is free with prior registration required. The initiative focuses on developing basketball skills, mentorship, and creating pathways for young athletes to access opportunities beyond local courts.
