Hayatu-Deen Calls Insecurity a National Emergency

Hayatu-Deen, a chieftain of the ADC, called for the treatment of insecurity in Nigeria as a national emergency after the brutal killing of Major General Abubakar Rabe, a retired officer. He highlighted that the country has seen a 46% increase in terror-related deaths within a single year, affecting countless families.

Hayatu-Deen criticized the political landscape, stating that the security crisis transcends partisan politics and is intertwined with economic issues. He urged the government at both state and federal levels to prioritize social welfare and proposed the establishment of state police to enhance security.

He acknowledged the challenges of corruption and political interference in such initiatives. Additionally, he called for an aggressive recruitment drive to strengthen military forces and improve the welfare of service members and their families, emphasizing the need for proper remuneration and support for those who sacrifice for the nation.
