Atiku Meets El-Rufai After Airport Arrest Attempt

Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President of Nigeria and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), spoke after meeting with Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State. This meeting followed an incident on Thursday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, where security agents attempted to arrest El-Rufai without presenting a warrant.

El-Rufai resisted the arrest, insisting that he would not submit to an arrest without a formal invitation or warrant. Atiku confirmed the visit through a statement on his Facebook account on Friday, noting that El-Rufai remained in good spirits despite the attempted arrest.

He emphasized that both he and El-Rufai are committed to the ideals of building a better Nigeria, recalling the drama surrounding the attempted arrest.
