Timi Frank Urges Tinubu to Heed Bishops' Economic Advice

Timi Frank, the former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, praised the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria for their courage in confronting President Bola Tinubu regarding Nigeria's economic and political issues. In a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, Frank commended the bishops for their leadership in addressing the president about the country's economic hardships and democratic concerns.

He urged Tinubu to take their observations seriously, stating that doing so would help restore public confidence in his administration. Frank emphasized the need for religious leaders, both Christian and Muslim, to be more vocal about national issues rather than limiting their interactions with government officials to prayers.

He criticized the tendency of religious leaders to avoid speaking the truth about the nation's challenges. The bishops had previously urged the Federal Government to address worsening living conditions and strengthen democratic institutions during their recent engagement with Tinubu.

Frank's comments contribute to the ongoing public discourse on Nigeria's economic state and governance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
