HI4Y Launches Youth Health Action Lab in Niger State

HI4Y has secured support from Ashoka Africa and Kwanda to implement the Youth Health Action Lab in Niger State. This initiative aims to empower young changemakers and improve health literacy, successfully transitioning 150 beneficiaries through a dual-phase social enterprise model.

The project focuses on mental health advocacy, engaging community leaders and executing a school-based program that involves 50 secondary school students. The curriculum, facilitated by mental health professionals, covers emotional well-being, peer support, and leadership skills.

Notable projects include an anti-bullying campaign and a peer support network. Emmanuel Anen, head boy at Farem Grace Merci School, noted the transformation in students' understanding of mental health.

Mr. Mondai Adeiza, the school principal, announced plans for a virtual mental health advocacy platform to sustain engagement.

The initiative aims to reach 100 community members, promoting health literacy and youth-led actions to address community challenges.
