Christians Eligible for Kano Hisbah Mass Wedding Program

Sheikh Mujahideen Aminuddeen, the Deputy Command of the Kano Hisbah Board, announced on Wednesday that Christians are eligible to participate in the mass wedding program known as Auren Gata. This initiative is designed to strengthen families and reduce immorality while providing financial support to disadvantaged couples.

The program is open to widows, widowers, divorcees, bachelors, and spinsters, regardless of their religious background. Aminuddeen revealed that three Christian couples are set to participate in the 2023 edition of the initiative, which is currently underway.

The program aims to encourage marriage in line with Islamic teachings and address social and economic challenges related to delayed marriages among young people. It also seeks to curb immoral behavior and assist those who cannot afford marriage expenses.

The initiative prioritizes orphans and vulnerable groups, with applications undergoing thorough screening for verification before selection, as emphasized by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
