Bwala Urges Accountability from Governors on Kidnappings

Daniel Bwala, serving as a special adviser to President Bola Tinubu, urged that governors should be held accountable for kidnappings occurring within their states, specifically referencing the recent abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State. During an appearance on Morayo Afolabi-Brown's show, Bwala criticized the federal government's handling of the ongoing insecurity in Nigeria.

He stated that every kidnapping incident should prompt accountability from state governors and local government chairmen. Bwala highlighted the need for transparency regarding funds allocated for school safety initiatives, questioning how much money was spent and whether local governments received their share.

He mentioned that Oyo State has not directly allocated funds meant for local governments, which are essential for improving security and welfare. Bwala emphasized that citizens should actively demand accountability from their local governments rather than waiting for federal intervention, urging town hall meetings to address these issues.
