Nigeria and Saudi Arabia Discuss Housing Development Partnership

On July 29, 2026, Engr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, the Honourable Minister of Housing and Urban Development in Nigeria, hosted His Excellency Yousef Bin Muhammad Al-Balawi, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Nigeria, for a courtesy visit. The discussions focused on establishing a strategic partnership for infrastructure development and investment, particularly in the housing sector.

Minister Darma expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia's interest in collaborating with Nigeria, emphasizing the country's significant housing and infrastructure needs. He highlighted the importance of international partnerships in achieving the Federal Government’s housing objectives under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Saudi Ambassador reaffirmed the Kingdom's readiness to assist Nigeria in addressing its housing needs, sharing expertise and best practices from Saudi Arabia's National Housing Company. The collaboration aims to create employment opportunities and strengthen diplomatic relations between the two nations.
