Housing Minister Supports Army Housing Development Initiative

Engr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, has pledged support for the Nigerian Army Post Service Housing Development programme during a courtesy visit from Major General K.O. Ukandu, Managing Director and CEO of the Nigerian Army Post Service Housing Development Limited, in Abuja.

The Minister announced the Federal Government's plan to construct 774,000 housing units nationwide under the National Social Housing Programme, targeting low and medium-income earners, including serving and retired military personnel. He emphasized the importance of providing shelter for those who wish to return to their home communities after service.

The Minister also mentioned the delivery of 1,550 units of the Renewed Hope Military housing project at Brains and Hammers by year-end. Major General K.O.

Ukandu expressed gratitude for the Ministry's support and highlighted the Army's Affordable Home Ownership Option for All Soldiers (AHOOAS), which allows soldiers to pay 10% of housing costs, with the Army covering the remainder.
