China and Nigeria Strengthen Tourism Cooperation in Abuja

The China Cultural Centre in Nigeria (CCCIN) expressed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with Nigeria in various sectors, particularly tourism and education. This announcement was made during a seminar on China’s Tourism Development Experience held in Abuja, co-hosted with the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) and the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA).

Mr. Yang Jianxing, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy and Director of CCCIN, emphasized the importance of tourism as a bridge between nations and highlighted the potential for collaboration given the rich cultural and natural resources of both countries. This year marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Nigeria, as well as the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges.

Dr. Abisoye Fagade, Director General/CEO of NIHOTOUR, noted that the seminar is an opportunity to translate the friendship between the two nations into skills, investments, and sustainable tourism development.
