Nigeria and China Sign Creative Industry Cooperation Pact

Nigeria and China advanced their cultural diplomacy by signing a creative industry cooperation agreement between the China Movie Channel (CMC) and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). This agreement, signed on Friday during the China–Nigeria Film and Literature Symposium at the China Cultural Centre in Abuja, aims to boost film co-productions, content exchange, professional training, technology transfer, and broader collaboration across creative sectors.

Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, emphasized the importance of literature and cinema in preserving history and promoting mutual understanding. He noted that both countries have rich literary and cinematic heritages, with notable Nigerian authors enjoying readership in China.

The event celebrated 55 years of diplomatic relations and reflects both nations' commitment to the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit outcomes. Dr.

Mukhtar Yawale Muhammad, representing the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, praised the enduring friendship and cultural exchanges between Nigeria and China.
