Activist Steven Kefas Alleges Abduction by El-Rufai's Agents

Activist Steven Kefas has alleged that he was unlawfully abducted in 2019 by agents of Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State. In a statement made on Saturday, Kefas recounted how he was tracked and detained by plainclothes police officers in Port Harcourt without an arrest warrant.

His phone was seized to prevent him from making calls, and he was taken to the Mini Okoro police station where he was not allowed to see or speak to anyone. The situation changed around 8 PM when a compassionate elderly policewoman helped him contact his family.

Kefas was later transported to Kaduna State on May 9, 2019, where he discovered that news of his abduction had spread across media outlets. He described his experience in detention as harsh, with further details to be shared later.

The incident reportedly involved discussions among security officials, including Uba Sani and Nuhu Ribadu, about the abduction. Bayo Onanuga, a presidential spokesperson, was also mentioned in relation to the former governor.
