Rapper Fetty Wap Released Early From Prison, Plans Community Development Focus

American rapper Fetty Wap, whose real name is Willi Junior Maxwell II, was released early from a US federal prison where he was serving time for a cocaine distribution conspiracy case. Initially sentenced to six years behind bars in May 2023, he was released ahead of schedule.

Fetty Wap was transferred to a federal correctional institution in Sandstone, Minnesota, on January 7, 2026, before being moved to home confinement. The 34-year-old rapper is currently serving the remainder of his sentence at home, with full release expected later in the year.

Fetty Wap expressed gratitude for the support he received during his incarceration and outlined plans to focus on community development, youth support, and giving back to the community through initiatives supporting at-risk children. His publicist, Abesi Manyando, highlighted his positive spirit and commitment to making a meaningful impact following his time in prison.
