Businessman Testifies on N400m Fraudulent Contract Deal

Mr. Gbenga Collins, the Managing Director of Divine Dopacy Nigeria Limited, informed the House of Representatives Committee investigating the fraudulent Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) that he paid approximately N400 million for a contract.

This payment was made to Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who misrepresented himself as the Director-General of the PFIPC and the Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC). Collins explained that his prior acquaintance with Adeyemi, a fellow indigene of Ogbomoso, and the apparent government authority surrounding him led him to believe in the legitimacy of the council.

Upon arriving at the airport, Collins was picked up by an official car with a Federal Government registration number, which further convinced him of Adeyemi's authenticity. In Adeyemi's office at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja, Collins encountered numerous dignitaries and security personnel, reinforcing his belief in the council's legitimacy.
