Katung and Project C.U.R.E. Boost Southern Kaduna Healthcare

Barrister Sundai Marshal Katung, representing the Southern Kaduna senatorial zone, has initiated a landmark partnership with Project C.U.R.E., a U.S.-based humanitarian organization, to supply medical equipment valued at 8 billion Naira to ten general hospitals across Southern Kaduna. This intervention aims to address critical healthcare gaps, including inadequate funding, resource shortages, and poor infrastructure, which have hindered the delivery of quality care.

The partnership will enhance the capacity of these hospitals and improve patient care over a five-year period, with a commitment to ongoing support and monitoring. Katung conducted a comprehensive needs assessment of five hospitals in his constituency, emphasizing that the equipment provided will directly impact patient care.

The first phase of the intervention will include at least 11 hospitals, with a focus on ensuring that the supplied equipment meets specific needs. Local government officials, including Daniel Amo and Hon Peter Tanko Dogara, expressed their support for the initiative, highlighting its potential to improve healthcare delivery and reduce the financial burden on families.
