Senator Katung Partners with NGO to Secure N6.8bn Medical Equipment for Kaduna South Hospitals

Senator Sunday Katung of Kaduna South Senatorial District has collaborated with the US-based humanitarian organization Project Cure to acquire medical equipment valued at N6.8 billion for 10 general hospitals across the district. The initiative, aimed at addressing critical gaps in healthcare infrastructure and enhancing service delivery in public hospitals, involves a comprehensive assessment and tour of five general hospitals in Kagarko, Kachia, Sanga, Kafanchan, and Zonkwa.

The partnership signifies a long-term commitment to improving healthcare access for the local population, with a focus on ensuring that the supplied equipment meets the specific needs of each hospital. The project includes a five-year partnership agreement to monitor and sustain the healthcare system's development.

Project Cure's team lead, Ms. Rose Polycarp, has pledged to deliver the equipment within three to six months.

Local government officials, including Peter Dogara, have lauded the initiative for its potential to significantly enhance healthcare services in the region.
