NAF Logistics Command Boosts Readiness Through Sports

The Nigerian Air Force's Logistics Command recently reinforced its commitment to operational effectiveness and teamwork through the 2026 intra-command sports competition held at the Sam Ethnan Air Force Base in Ikeja, Lagos. The event aimed to enhance combat readiness and strengthen unit cohesion among personnel.

Air Vice Marshal Nnaemeka Ignatius Ilo represented the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre as the special guest of honor. The competition featured sports such as badminton, table tennis, lawn tennis, and volleyball, designed to assess and enhance the physical capabilities of personnel.

It also served as a platform for social interaction among athletes who will represent the command in upcoming inter-command competitions. Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Sule emphasized the importance of maintaining consistent training and developing mental toughness and teamwork.

The event included newly introduced archery, aimed at testing strength, endurance, and mental fortitude. The Logistics Command aims for a podium finish in future competitions, with support from the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal S.K.
