Apply Now for World Bank's 2027 Africa Fellowship

The World Bank Group has announced the opening of applications for its 2027 Africa Fellowship Programme, which began on July 15, 2026, and will close on August 25, 2026. This programme is designed for Ph.D. candidates and recent Ph.D. graduates from Sub-Saharan Africa, with a strong encouragement for women to apply.

Selected participants will work at the World Bank's headquarters in Washington, D.C., or in selected country offices for six months starting in January 2027. Applicants must be nationals of a Sub-Saharan African country, in their final year of a Ph.D. programme or have completed a Ph.D. within the last three years, and be 32 years old or younger by January 1, 2027.

They must also demonstrate excellent English skills, possess strong quantitative and analytical skills, and submit various documents including a curriculum vitae and a motivation statement. Successful applicants will work alongside World Bank experts on research and development projects, contributing to the institution's mission of reducing poverty and promoting shared prosperity.
