NIPR Honors Bashir Chedi, Advocates for Mentorship

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) celebrated the legacy of Bashir Chedi during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Kaduna, where it launched the inaugural Bashir Chedi annual lecture. The event underscored the importance of mentorship, institutional memory, and the transfer of professional knowledge.

NIPR Vice President Professor Emmanuel Samu Dandaura represented President Dr Ike Neliaku, highlighting the dual purpose of the gathering: conducting institutional business while honoring a significant contributor to the Institute. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, emphasized the role of public relations in governance and national development.

Professor Dandaura noted the rarity of occasions that combine business and remembrance, stating that Bashir Chedi was recognized not only for his positions within NIPR but also for his leadership qualities, particularly his ability to listen and unite diverse perspectives. The event aimed to ensure Chedi's memory continues to enrich the field of public relations.
