Idris Honors Late Chedi at Memorial Lecture in Kaduna

On Saturday, during the maiden Bashir Adamu Chedi Annual Memorial Lecture and Annual General Meeting of the Kaduna state chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, became emotional while honoring his late friend and colleague, Bashir Adamu Chedi. Idris described Chedi as more than a friend, recalling how he supported him during critical times.

The lecture's theme, “Bridging Generations: Strengthening Public Relations Through Mentorship,” highlighted Chedi's legacy as a Fellow of NIPR and former Chairman of its Kaduna chapter. Idris noted Chedi's influence on younger professionals and stressed the importance of mentorship in the evolving communication landscape, particularly with the rise of social media and artificial intelligence.

He urged both younger and senior practitioners to collaborate, emphasizing the need for professional ethics in public relations. Idris called for established practitioners to mentor younger professionals to preserve Chedi's legacy.
