OPay Guides Customers on N50,000 Relief Eligibility Check

OPay has announced that its customers can check their eligibility for the Federal Government’s N50,000 National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI) through its USSD code *955*20# or its mobile app. The fintech company, one of five approved payment providers for the intervention, emphasized that customers should not pay fees or share sensitive banking details.

To check eligibility, customers must dial *955*20# from the phone number linked to their OPay account and follow the prompts. OPay warned against sharing personal identification numbers (PINs), one-time passwords (OTPs), and account passwords, as well as clicking on suspicious links.

The NERSI programme selects beneficiaries from verified national identity records and the National Social Register, focusing on poor and vulnerable households. OPay urged vigilance against fraudsters exploiting the relief programme.
