Police Brave Boko Haram Attack as Soldiers Retreat in Borno Battle

Residents in Borno state recounted how a combined team of the Nigeria Police Force and Civilian Joint Task Force bravely confronted Boko Haram insurgents in Banki Bama local government area. The police officers showed courage in repelling the attack, while some soldiers reportedly fled the battlefield.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Banki rallied his men and received commendation for his bravery in the face of the terrorist assault. The delay in air support and alleged confusion contributed to the retreat of some soldiers during the intense gun battle with the insurgents near the Nigeria-Cameroon border.
