N25.9bn Spent on Suspicious Projects by Two MDAs

A dataset obtained from Daily Trust reveals that the Federal Cooperative College Oji River and the Federal College of Horticulture Dadin Kowa spent N25.9 billion on suspicious projects within 24 hours on March 31, 2026. The analysis indicates that several payments, totaling N2,147,785,200, were made for similar road erosion control projects across different communities, with amounts of N268,473,150 disbursed to various contractors including Swam Construct Ltd and Gorrion Engineering Ltd.

The dataset shows at least 17 separate disbursements of N29.1 million each for various agricultural inputs and equipment across multiple states, raising concerns about the statutory mandate of the agencies involved. The payments included N51.9 million for solar streetlight projects in Ajeromi Ifelodun and other locations, further highlighting potential irregularities in the financial transactions.
