Melaye Critiques Tinubu's Self-Appointment as Campaign Chair

Dino Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu for appointing himself as the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 presidential campaign council. The announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

Melaye expressed his disapproval in a Facebook post, stating that Tinubu's self-appointment reflects a lack of trust in others, suggesting that the president is afraid of his own shadow. He described the situation as abnormal, emphasizing that it is unprecedented for a presidential candidate to also serve as the chairman of their own campaign team.

Melaye further criticized the campaign council as "bogus," asserting that it indicates Tinubu's distrust of governors and ministers, and that he wants all information to be reported directly to him. Melaye concluded that this situation is disgraceful and unprecedented in political history.
