Pete Edochie Claims Father Figure Role to Nigerian Leaders

Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie stated that he serves as a father figure in society, which grants him influence over Nigeria's president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the 36 state governors. In an interview with TV3, Edochie noted that he will turn 80 in six months, making him older than Tinubu and all governors.

He recounted a specific instance where he utilized his influence to secure financial support from the government for an ailing colleague, revealing that the government sent half a million naira to assist the colleague shortly after he made the appeal. Edochie emphasized that when he speaks to leaders, it is akin to a father addressing a son, reflecting his perceived authority and respect in the political landscape.
