Senator Alli Denies Involvement in Kidnapping Case

Senator Sharafadeen Alli, representing the Oyo South Senatorial District and a member of the All Progressives Congress, issued a statement denying any involvement in the kidnapping of Olaid Adegok, the younger sister of Adebayo Adelabu, a former Minister of Power. The incident occurred on June 3, 2026, when armed gunmen intercepted Adegok's vehicle in Ibadan, taking her and her 12-year-old twin sons hostage.

They were rescued on June 6, 2026, during a coordinated operation by the Nigerian Police Force. Alli described social media reports linking him to the kidnapping as malicious, baseless, and defamatory, asserting that they were politically motivated attempts to tarnish his image.

He emphasized that no security agency had established any connection between him and the crime, and he called for an investigation into the sources of these false claims. Alli reaffirmed his commitment to his legislative duties and the safety of Oyo State.
