Senatorial Aspirant Regrets Leaving APC for NDC

Ehiozuwa Agbonayinwa, a senatorial aspirant for Edo South, publicly regretted his decision to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stating he felt he moved from "frying pan to hell fire." Agbonayinwa, a former member of the House of Representatives, claimed he was unable to secure a senatorial ticket during the primary elections due to a lack of consensus among party members. He mentioned that the process was rigorous and left him feeling frustrated, as he could not reach an agreement with other candidates.

Agbonayinwa noted that he had been encouraged by NDC leader Seriake Dickson to pursue the senatorial nomination but ultimately faced difficulties in the primary elections held on May 29, with results not yet announced as of June 5. He expressed surprise at being asked to run for the position after initially considering a return to the House of Representatives.
