Ogunmodede Appointed Head Coach of Kano Pillars

Daniel Ogunmodede has been appointed as the head coach of Kano Pillars, signing a two-year contract. His appointment follows the departure of Muhammad Babaganaru, who previously led the team.

Ogunmodede expressed gratitude for the support from the Kano community and pledged not to let them down. He aims to restore the club's traditional status in Nigerian football after a disappointing 2025/26 season, where they finished 15th and narrowly escaped relegation.

Ogunmodede has a history of coaching, including a stint at Remo Stars, where he guided the team to their maiden NPFL title in the 2024/25 season. He will also continue his role as an assistant coach for the Super Eagles under Franco-Malian coach Eric Chell.

The new season preparations are already underway as Ogunmodede looks to lead Kano Pillars in the 2026/27 NPFL season.
