Kano Governor Appoints New Leadership for Sports Commission

On Thursday, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State announced the appointment of a new management board for the Kano State Sports Commission and Kano Pillars FC. The restructuring is part of a broader strategy to revitalize sports administration and improve football excellence while strengthening youth development across the state.

Alhaji Tukur Babangida has been appointed as the chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission, with Bashir Maizar serving as the secretary. The commission includes representatives from various stakeholder groups, including local government associations and representatives for persons with disabilities.

Sunusi Ismail and Sani Musa Danja are also part of the commission. The newly constituted board for Kano Pillars FC will be chaired by Ahmad Musbahu and includes several experienced football administrators.

Former Super Eagles captain Ahmad Musa will serve as a sports ambassador. Governor Yusuf emphasized the need for strategic planning and transparency in sports management, expressing confidence in the appointees' ability to strengthen sports development programs and nurture young talent.
