IBB Advocates for Better Support for Military Veterans

Former military president Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida called for enhanced funding and welfare support for Nigerian military veterans and the families of fallen soldiers. This appeal was made during a courtesy visit by Morenik Henri, the national chairman of the Nigerian Legion, to Babangida's residence in Minna, Niger State.

In a statement released by the Legion's media officer, Oloriegb David, it was noted that the delegation aimed to address welfare concerns affecting veterans. Babangida commended the leadership of the Nigerian Legion for its commitment to promoting the welfare of retired military personnel.

Henri highlighted significant challenges faced by veterans, including inadequate medical assistance and economic hardships for widows of soldiers who lost their lives in active service. She requested financial support equivalent to five to six months' salary for widows to help them establish small businesses.
