Ibom Air Appoints Captain Banjana Bailor as Director

Ibom Air announced the appointment of Captain Banjana Bailor as the new Director of Flight Operations in a statement released by the Group Manager of Marketing Communications, Aniekan Essienett, in Uyo on Tuesday. Captain Bailor brings over 40 years of aviation experience and has logged 20,000 flight hours.

His distinguished career includes roles in flight crew training and operational management, with expertise in airline operations and safety management systems. Prior to this appointment, he served in a senior operational role at a previous airline, where he played a pivotal role in developing flight crew standards and enhancing safety culture.

Mr. Georg Uriesi, the CEO of Ibom Air, expressed his pleasure in welcoming Captain Bailor to the team, highlighting his wealth of experience and technical competence as ideal for leading flight operations.

Captain Bailor holds an Airline Transport Pilot License and has extensive operational experience with a wide range of aircraft, including BAC 1-11, DC-9, and Boeing 737 NG. He is an alumnus of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Technical College (NCAT) in Zaria and Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas, where he earned an associate degree in Applied Science, majoring in Aircraft Maintenance Technology.
