ICPC Denies Arrest of Justice James Omotosho Amid Viral Claims

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) issued a statement on Tuesday denying the arrest of Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja. This denial comes in response to a viral video circulating on social media that falsely claims the judge was arrested.

ICPC spokesman John Odei clarified that the commission has neither arrested nor invited Justice Omotosho for questioning regarding any investigation. The commission urged the public to disregard the misleading content of the video, which it stated could cause unnecessary public concern and damage the reputation of the ICPC.

The statement also highlighted that the ICPC does not have the mandate to investigate judicial officers and maintains high regard for the judiciary. Additionally, the Code of Conduct Bureau had previously invited Justice John Tsoho regarding undeclared assets, which he confirmed on March 2, indicating his readiness to appear before the agency.
