ICPC to Arraign Ex-Science Minister Nnaji for Forgery

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is preparing to arraign former Science Minister Nnaji in the Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik. Nnaji was arrested on July 1 at Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu while attempting to board a private jet to Abuja.

He resigned from his ministerial position in October following allegations of obtaining a forged Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN). The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has disowned the certificate attributed to Nnaji.

Court documents indicate that Nnaji is the sole defendant in the charges related to forgery. ICPC spokesman John Odei was unavailable for comment at the time of the report, as attempts to reach him via mobile phone were unsuccessful.
