Gbajabiamila Appears Before ICPC Over PFIPC Inquiry

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, appeared at the headquarters of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in Abuja in response to an invitation for an inquiry into the alleged fraudulent activities of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC). This inquiry is part of an ongoing investigation directed by President Tinubu, who instructed the ICPC to investigate the PFIPC after it was described as a fraudulent entity operating within the federal secretariat for two years.

Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the director general of the PFIPC, alleged that he paid a bribe of N400 million to facilitate the establishment of the agency. Gbajabiamila has denied any involvement in the agency's operations or receiving any bribe.

The ICPC clarified that Gbajabiamila was neither arrested nor detained during the inquiry, which aims to gather relevant facts regarding the investigation.
