Fayose Critiques Obi's Choice of Datti Baba-Ahmed

Isaac Fayose, a popular social commentator, stated that Peter Obi, the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), made a mistake by choosing Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed as his running mate in the 2023 general elections. Fayose described Datti Baba-Ahmed as a failure, asserting that he could not secure victory for the Labour Party even in his own state.

In a video posted on his official Facebook page, Fayose expressed that Datti was not well-known before Obi selected him in 2022 and criticized the choice, stating, “When Obi picked this guy in 2022, we were all shouting, who is this guy and why will Obi pick this kind of person?” He further claimed that Datti's recent criticisms of Obi stemmed from jealousy over not being chosen again for the upcoming elections. Fayose concluded by asserting that Obi's current vice-presidential candidate is more capable and popular than Datti Baba-Ahmed.
