IG Disu Promises Enhanced Security for Plateau State

Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu assured Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of the federal government's commitment to restoring security in the state after deadly attacks in the Kawel Community, Mushere District, Bokko Local Government Area. During a visit on Wednesday, Disu, accompanied by Assistant Inspector General of Police Morri Dankwambo, expressed condolences and condemned the attacks as barbaric acts.

He stated that the police have already initiated concrete steps to address the security situation, including reviewing existing operational plans and reinforcing tactics to protect vulnerable communities. Mutfwang emphasized the need for a reassessment of security strategies, acknowledging that past approaches were ineffective.

He convened an emergency meeting with security agencies to develop new operational approaches. The governor reiterated the importance of intelligence gathering in managing conflicts and preventing banditry, assuring residents that security agencies are making progress in apprehending the perpetrators.
