IGP Disu and NBA President Collaborate for Justice

On Tuesday, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, hosted the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya (SAN), along with members of the NBA National Executive Committee at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. The meeting focused on fostering stronger collaboration between the police and the legal profession.

Mrs. Badejo-Okusanya emphasized the importance of synergy, proposing specialized training for lawyers and improved engagement between police lawyers and the broader Bar. She advocated for an end to conflicts between lawyers and police officers, highlighting their complementary roles in the justice system.

Additionally, she introduced a UNICEF-supported initiative aimed at ensuring children's access to justice, proposing that a police lawyer be present at every police station to assist vulnerable children. IGP Disu congratulated Mrs. Badejo-Okusanya on her presidency and stressed the need for mutual respect and professionalism in interactions between the two professions.
