IGP Disu Advocates for Police Welfare with DEPOWA Visit

On a courtesy visit to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu welcomed Mrs. Mernan Femi Oluyede, the President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), along with a high-level delegation.

This delegation included leaders from various officers' wives associations: Chief Mrs. Mutiat Disu (POWA), Mrs.

Safiya Shuaibu (NAOWA), Mrs. Aisha Idi Abbas (NOWA), Mrs.

Ngozi Aneke (NAFOWA), and Mrs. Jane Undiandeye (Defence Intelligence Agency Wives Association).

A press statement by Force Public Relations Officer CSP Anietie Iniedu indicated that the discussions aimed to strengthen collaboration in promoting the welfare of officers and their families. IGP Disu praised DEPOWA as a crucial support system for security personnel and reiterated the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to welfare initiatives, focusing on economic empowerment, psychosocial support, quality healthcare, and education to enhance personnel morale and operational efficiency.
