IGP Disu Enhances Rescue Operations in Niger State

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has ordered enhanced rescue operations in Niger State for worshippers abducted during terrorist attacks in the Dekara District of Borgu Local Government Area. Disu directed the Niger State Police Command to improve inter-agency coordination and community engagement, emphasizing the importance of partnerships with traditional and religious leaders for effective intelligence gathering.

During his visit to assess the security situation, he expressed condolences to the families of the victims and assured them of the ongoing focus on their safe rescue and the arrest of the perpetrators. Disu commended CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman for the Command’s timely responses and appreciated the Niger State Government for its support, including operational vehicles and welfare for officers.

He met with Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba and the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Dr Umar Farouk Bahago, to strengthen collaboration in restoring peace and security in the region.
