Niger CP Requests More Forces to Combat Insurgency

On Saturday, Adamu Elleman, the Commissioner of Police for the Niger State Police Command, requested the deployment of additional personnel and resources to combat insurgency in Niger State. This request was made during a visit from Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu, who came to address the recent abduction of residents, including worshippers and farmers.

Elleman expressed gratitude for Disu's visit, which aimed to boost the morale of the police force. He highlighted the challenges faced by the command, including difficult terrain and the state's large landmass, but noted successes in arresting bandits, dismantling robbery gangs, and recovering stolen livestock.

Disu emphasized that his visit was to thank the officers for their efforts and to find tactical solutions to their challenges. He condemned the abductions and announced the deployment of AIG Victor Olaiya and other units to expedite rescue operations.

Disu encouraged officers to maintain vigilance and strengthen ties with community leaders to effectively combat crime.
