Ijaw Youths Support Digital Reforms in Nigeria's Civil Service

The Ijaw Youths coalition, led by National President Comrade Bedford Berefa Benjamin, has urged Nigerians to support the digital reforms in the civil service initiated by Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

The coalition asserts that the digitalization efforts, including the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) System, GovMail, and the 1-GOV Cloud Platform, are crucial for creating a transparent, efficient, and accountable public service. These initiatives aim to transition Nigeria's civil service to a paperless system, enhancing service delivery and reducing bureaucratic delays.

The coalition commended the reforms for replacing manual processes with secure digital platforms, which improve document management and promote accountability. They emphasized that ongoing digital transformation is vital for strengthening internal controls and compliance with Public Service Rules.

The coalition called for the Federal Government to expedite the nationwide implementation of these digital governance initiatives to restore public confidence in government institutions.
