Delta Police Command Reports Success Against Crime

The Delta State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner Mr. Yemi Oyeniyi, expressed confidence in their ongoing efforts to combat crime, particularly kidnapping, robbery, cultism, and drug-related offenses.
In a media statement on Monday in Asaba, Oyeniyi reported that the command arrested 80 suspects over various crimes in the second quarter of 2026. This included five arrests connected to murder, 76 suspects linked to violent cult activities, and 46 cultists charged in court, with 30 cases currently under investigation.
The police also rescued 18 kidnapping victims and recovered 32 firearms, which comprised three AK-47 rifles, four pump-action guns, two Beretta pistols, two locally made revolver pistols, and 17 locally made single-barrel guns. Additionally, a total of 219 rounds of live ammunition were seized.
Oyeniyi encouraged the public to continue providing credible information to the police to enhance security in the state.
