Ilorin South Chairman Podo Reports 130 Projects Delivered

Hon. Nuhu Majeed Podo, the Executive Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government Area in Kwara State, reported the delivery of 130 capital projects over two years during a press conference. These projects, which span education, healthcare, electricity, water supply, and roads, were strategically distributed across the 11 wards to address infrastructure gaps.

Podo highlighted the installation of 17 transformers to enhance electricity supply and significant investments in education, including new classrooms and facilities at various schools. Notably, a hall was constructed at Sheikh Abdulsalam Senior Secondary School to accommodate 120 students for external examinations.

In healthcare, the council renovated health centres and improved water access, including the rehabilitation of a primary healthcare centre in Aiyereke that had been non-functional for 27 years. The administration also focused on road and erosion-control projects, particularly in Akanbi 5, where nearly 70 projects were executed due to historical neglect.

Additionally, the local government headquarters was renovated, and about 80 casual staff were employed.
